| Day 1 |
Fly from UK to Oslo for one night. |
| Day 2 |
Early flight to Longyearbyen in
Northern Norway. You will have time to explore this charming town before the
cruise departs early evening. |
| Days 3 to 11 |
 Svalbard Archipelago
Each day will be planned to take advantage of local ice and weather conditions.
Svalbard is one of the few places on the planet to offer such wonderful scenery and
wildlife. You will visit ice covered fjords with breathtaking mountain scenery and
glaciers crashing into the sea. You will spend time steaming through the ice in
search of polar bears and hunting seals.
Ivory Gulls are the highlight for
birders, while constantly keeping a look out for walruses either on ice or at an onshore
hullout. You will visit spectacular bird cliffs filled with
thousands of murres, as well as kittiwakes and other gulls. A little awk (dovekie)
colony will also be on the agenda. Shore stops will be highlighted with beautiful
flowers. At one or more of the stops, we hope to see one of Svalbard's species of
reindeer, smaller than the southern relatives, but still carrying impressive
antlers. By not having a set agenda, we will be free to take advantage of the best
that Svalbard has to offer before concluding our adventure in Longyearbyen. |
| Day 12 |
Arrive in Longyearbyen early in the
morning for disembarkation. Fly to Oslo for your last night, there will be time to
explore the city. |

Fly from Oslo to the UK. |
