Ua Pou (Hakahau-Hakahetau), Marquesas
As you dock at this first Marquesas island you will be greeted by local villagers as the
ship is their lifeline providing contact to the outside world and bringing supplies. |
| Day 5 |
Nuku Hiva (Taiohae-Taipivai)
You will sail into Nuku Hiva’s spectacular bay, a giant amphitheatre dominated by
towering cliffs and majestic waterfalls. You will take part a jeep safari over the
mountains and through the jungle to see stone tiki gods, scared ritual sites and
carvings of birds, fish and sacred turtles on boulders. |

Hiva Oa (Atuona)
Your guides will show you mysterious jungle ruins, the largest tikis outside of the
Easter Islands. |
| Day 7 |
Fatu Hiva (Omoa-Hanavave)
Although this is the centre of Marquesian culture, the Aranui passengers are the only
visitors to this remote island. After hiking past towering cliffs and views of majestic
waterfalls, cool off with a plunge in a secluded river pool. |

Hiva Oa (Puamau-Hanaiapa) |

Tahuata (Vaitahu-Hapatoni)
This is the smallest of the Marquesian Islands and with its white sandy beaches and
tranquillity it has the feeling of paradise. |
| Day 10 |
Ua Huka (Vaipaee-Hane-Hokatu)
Wild horses out number the 300 residents. You can explore either by horse or by jeep
either way you will enjoy beautiful views. |
